The Repeater

Happy Friday!

Does anyone else this week just dragged on??

This morning I headed to the gym for a nice cardio session.  I did 60 minutes on the treadmill, for a total of 6.2 miles, with the majority of my workout ranging from 6.5 to 7.3 mph.  At my final pt appointment, I spoke with the therapist about how I should be increasing my mileage, hills, etc.  She said  do not to run more than 2 days in a row, aim for one longer run a week adding .5-1 mile if I feel good, and if I’m on the treadmill, every 5 minutes or so, lower my speed and increase my incline for 1-2 minutes if I wanted to do hills.  She made a great point that when you are running outside on a typical run, you are not running on an incline for 30+ minutes.  For the longest time I thought that in order to get a decent run in on the treadmill, I needed to run the entire workout on and incline.  What was I thinking??  This made much more sense to me.  I mean, with the exception of last springs half marathon and maybe reach the beach,  when’s the last time I’ve run a hill longer than 1-3 minutes??  This was music to my ears..

Did I mention the 6 miles were PAIN FREE?!?!?

When I got home I foam rolled for a few minutes then whipped up a not-so green monster and had a 1/2 cup of coffee.

This mornings ingredients were spinach, flax, vanilla protein powder, almond milk, blueberries, and 1/2 cup of ice coffee.

I’ll be heading into work shortly and will be doing a repeater of yesterdays winning breakfast and may be stopping at Starbucks for another skinny cinnamon dolce latte!

10 more hours till the weekend: )  See you tonight!
